The baby doesn't appreciate my cooking

I don't make baby food too often, but I decided to make some pureed avocado for Faith to try. I've seen it on other blogs (and they claim their baby loves it!) and I've read about what a great source of nutrition avocado is for growing babies.

Start with one ripe avocado (check to see if it's green under the stem)

Bust out the rarely used food processor

Scoop out the avocado and try not to wish you were making guacamole instead

Puree the crap out it

Put some away for later
I'd explain Faith's reaction to new foods, but it's more fun to show you:

She doesn't usually like new foods on the first try, so I'm not shocked about her reaction. I'll try mixing it with something else that she already likes. Blueberries are her gateway food. I can mix anything with blueberry and she'll probably eat it.

At least my husband appreciates my efforts in the kitchen more than the baby!

You know it's a romantic dinner when the pepperoni is in a heart shape
We are all (meaning Faith and Peanut) going for a run with my neighbor friend this morning, which should be interesting considering how windy it has been! Later, Faith and I are going to Target to buy clearance Valentine's Day candy shop for some things I forgot at the store on Sunday. :)

Do you usually like new foods on the first try or does it take you a while to like something?

  1. Too cute! I'm a lot more open to trying new foods now than I have ever been!

  2. I love your baby videos! A few things have been an acquired taste for me (collard greens, carrots) but I'm open to try anything once and usually like it!

  3. Avocado was Cameron's first food and he was a fan! But since it was his first food I mixed it with milk and it was runnier. Now he LOVES "bananacado" when I mix it with pureed banana. Give that one a try and if she likes banana, it's a guaranteed win!

  5. Oh my gosh. Cutest video ever. I love that she takes the second spoonful assuming that you wouldn't give her something she does like twice in a row and then promptly spits it back out! Hehe :)
