| Yay, Mommy got into the Marine Corps Marathon! |
| I'm trying to look tough |
So the event organizers were sneaky and opened up the registration about 15 minutes early, so by the time noon rolled around, I was like the 18,000 person to register! I actually think the website is down for now due to the high volume. I'm so excited that I'm going to be running this race! The race shirt looked really nice, so I ordered mine in my husband's size (since he deserves a nice shirt for all the hours of baby care he puts into my marathon training). If I end up going to the race expo, I'll probably get a hat for myself or something like that. :)
Faith and I (and Peanut of course) had a nice 6 mile run this morning. I ran part of the way with a neighbor friend and I actually forgot to grab my Garmin on the way out the door. It was nice to just run and not worry about pace and mile splits. I just went by RPE (rate of perceived exertion) and I had no problem feeling like I was really working hard. My heart rate gets so much higher running with the stroller than it does when I run alone!
I finally remembered to buy flour at the store, so I think I'm going to make some bread sticks to go with dinner tonight. Making bread is one of those things that I avoid doing because of the mess, but once I do it, I love eating the end product!
Do you like making your own bread, or do you always buy it?
You should get the book "artisan bread in 5 minutes a day". It's so easy, even you can do it.
ReplyDeleteYAY CONGRATS! reminds me of registering for college classes; if you didnt click at the right minute you'd be shut out and totally screwed, maybe not even graduating on time.
ReplyDeletei love making bread but i use the bread machine for the tough part (on "dough" cycle) and then take it out to rise and bake.
Yay! Congrats. Baby Faith is going to rock the marathon, obviously.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! That is awesome! And Faith looks adorable, as usual. Where did you get the ballet socks?
ReplyDeleteMegan - The ballet socks are Carter's, so they are pretty much sold everywhere. I got mine at the navy exchange, but I think I saw them at Kohls too!
ReplyDeleteYay! I love making my own bread. Especially pizza dough, it just makes such a difference in the final product.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the race. I can't imagine running again, much less a marathon! But hopefully that will all change after the baby comes. Eventually...
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting signed up in time! Hopefully your first goes really well, so that you'll be even more excited about this one too!
ReplyDeleteLove the pink camo! hehe
ReplyDeleteI haven't ever made bread, I just think it's easier to buy it.
Congrats on the race! Faith is super cute in the jumper, must of been a good luck charm. I have a random fact about bread you might enjoy: I use to win Grand Champion at the 4-H Fair for my Yeast Bread and then sell it for top dollar at the auction...ah those were the days...
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!! How cute is Faith!?!?! Adorable. She definitely looks like one tough cookie in the 2nd photo. :)
