Peer pressure can be a good thing

Well, I was able to use a little peer pressure to get two friends to agree to run in the rain with me. We must have been quite the sight since we all had BOB strollers with weather shields. If you think you get funny looks from passing motorists when you're running the rain/snow/whatever, add a baby to the mix and you get some really funny looks. :)

This was my first time using the weather shield and it was fantastic. Faith didn't get one drop of rain on her (and it was raining pretty hard at times!) and stayed cozy when the wind started to blow.
Mommy, you're crazy
So I did 2 miles on the treadmill while Faith took her early morning nap (from 7:45-8:30am) and then 4 more outside to get my full 6 for the day. I felt really good today, probably because I got to sleep a ton last night. I went to bed at 8:45pm and I didn't hear a peep from Faith until 5:50am. Other than some dog snoring, it was a peaceful night!

Speaking of the dog, she was very upset about staying home from the run this morning. I could hear her howling as I walked away from the house. I felt bad, but she acted like I was killing her yesterday when we were running, so I think she needs a break from running. Maybe even dogs get burnt out?

Peanut has been consoling herself by sleeping 22 hours a day instead. She usually only sleeps upstairs, but for some reason she tried to sleep downstairs yesterday.
Dog feet!

What flavor is this one?

I can't believe you're just watching this happen

Peanut, wake up! Come play!
Now you know why Peanut usually sleeps upstairs. :)

Have peer pressured anyone into something lately or had it happen to you? So far this week, I peer pressured Alyssa into a 50K and also 2 normally sane women into running in the rain. I wonder what I'll do next week!

  1. Not a huge peer pressure person. I don't normally fall prey to it, luckily! lol

  2. BOB to the rescue again! We love ours. Peer pressure...I will definitely say that once you become a mom you fall privy to comparing your parenting choices to your friends' sometimes. I.e.....organic food only, etc. I try to stay confident in my decisions, though!

  5. did you put one of those realistic Cabbage Patch dolls in your stroller for that first picture? You're quite talented at taking baby pictures that make the baby look fake.

  7. The "funny" looks that you were all getting were probably really looks of admiration! I bet those people were just astonished that you all got out to run in the crappy weather WITH your kids! If any of them slacked off on their morning runs, I am sure they will be finding time to fit them in this afternoon!

  8. you're quite the little peer pressurer!

The rain shield looks awesome! Do you think Faith gets hot in there? Like a humid, steamy kind of hot? (it that makes sense...)

  9. I was wondering if it gets warm under the rain shield as well. It looks like it could be kinda stuffy. It's awesome that you can do that though!

I have been peer pressuring people all week to listen to that awful "Friday" song. Their horrified reactions are always hilarious.

  13. I am pretty impressed with your peer pressure skills. I have pressured people into signing up for races but don't usually have luck with bad weather. I'll up my peer pressuring this week.
