| Faith approved the making of these cookies |
Personally, you could never talk me into giving up sweets during training. Even if you told me not eating sweets for a month would take 5 minutes off my marathon time, it's still not worth it. This is why I'm being a supportive friend and eating even more sweets than usual, you know, for them.
Other than baking and eating cookies, I decided that I had waited long enough and I finally got Faith her Halloween costume. Last year, Faith was an angry cow:
| Moo moo bitches |
Faith didn't get a say in her costume last year, so I decided to let her choose her own at Target. Once we got in front of the display, she made up her mind pretty quickly. My excessive pushing of horses on her paid off and she chose the zebra. I tried the costume on her at the store to check that she would walk in it and she wouldn't walk in it....she only wants to RUN in it. I guess she wants to be an accurate zebra. :)
Of course I put the costume back on her so I could show my husband and I took a video of her attacking Peanut in her costume. I guess zebras hunt coonhounds?
I get a little overzealous about the holidays now that we have Faith. It used to be "Oh, there's candy corn on that lady's desk, I guess it's Halloween season" and now I'm contemplating costume choices for over a month before the day. Also (don't tell my husband) but I've already started listening to Christmas carols. Faith doesn't mind, in fact she seems to really enjoy "Jingle Bells". :)
Do you get excited for holidays or are you like the old me and complain how Christmas displays seem to pop up earlier and earlier every year?
Have you ever given up sweets?
LoL. I was going to Twitter a picture of the cookie I had after lunch yesterday, but didn't get a chance. Thanks for picking up the task :)
ReplyDeleteThat costume is freakin adorable! I love the floppy zebra head on top. OMG I want to go Trick or Treating with her!
I count down the days until Thanksgiving so that I can "legally" start listening to Christmas music, and then I get sad after New Years when I have to turn them off. The only reason I get annoyed that stores are already selling Christmas stuff is that it means I get anxious about buying gifts. With 7 December birthdays in the family, December is more than a little stressful.
I have never "given up" anything, except for drinking coffee every morning, but that's because it helps with the dizzies, so I guess I did it for my health, so that's allowed.
That is basically the cutest thing I've ever seen. ALMOST makes me want one. Baby. Not cookie. And I totally don't believe you, you would do that if it would take five minutes off your marathon time. I listen completely exclusively to Christmas music during the holidays, and now that you brought it up, I am also considering starting now. I think I need to wait until the temps drop out of the 70s. You know you are a runner when you type "tempo" instead of "temps". And then doing it again trying to explain it. Thanks for eating the extra sweets. You're really taking one for the team.
ReplyDeleteI knew that picture was to temp us. You're the worst again.
ReplyDeleteThat costume is freaking awesome. The video puts it over the top.
The only holiday I get excited about is Christmas. I freaking LOVE Christmas. Though, not as much as some. Mike's old coworker's wife has a year round Christmas room. That's just insane.
OMG so cute!!!
ReplyDeleteFaith chasing after peanut made her look like a zombie zebra. Which is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI should post a picture of the yummy coconut macaroons I made the other day too.
Alright. Why are they giving up sweets until the Marathons are over?
ReplyDeleteI love the costume!!
And I think the holidays always pop up earlier and earlier...but I LOVE Christmas music and the festivities...I'm a sucker for it all!
Oh man, that costume makes me want to run out and get one for Owen ASAP. That is freaking ADORABLE.
ReplyDeleteFaith and Owen are totally twins. They make the same noises and attack the dog with the same vigor. Perhaps a trip to Target is in our future...
I love the picture of last year's Halloween costume, I honestly chuckled to myself. I love the video, too, so adorable!
ReplyDeleteAnd P.S. I love Christmas and I may or may not be caught playing Christmas music all year 'round :)
I used to be a store manager at Banana Republic and in July/August before the store opened for the day, I would play our Christmas cd while we cleaned. Christmas music puts everyone in a better mood :)
ReplyDeleteI love the holiday season but it's a little early for the Christmas stuff yet. It's not even Fall yet!
ReplyDeleteThat is the cutest thing ever. Both the costume and Peanut attacking Faith haha
ReplyDeletei like the holidays, especially from thanksgiving until christmas. and, i hate to admit it, but i do listen to christmas carols in the car when i'm alone!
ReplyDeletehaha. i feel like a complete slacker when i see that people are giving up sweets before a race. mine is next week...i think my sweet intake has tripled. no big deal ;)
ReplyDeleteis it too early in our blog relationship to say i love you? we totally got the kiddos costumes the second they were out on the shelves (but we saved the receipts in case they changed their minds) and i listen to christmas music year round. i LOVE it! my kiddos can recite jingle bell rock and last christmas without background help...
ReplyDeleteI fuel my running with candy. I love Snickers. Probably why I am slow. But satisfied.
ReplyDeleteThose cookies look amazing. Faith is totally adorable in the Zebra costume. I love the Holidays, but I like to celebrate them one at a time. Christmas tree displays in July are too much for me.
ReplyDeletePics of cookies, really? don't you know I'm stuff here at work without treats! And you post cookie photos to what? torture me?
ReplyDeleteLove the costume! I still don't have costumes for the kids. Putting that on the weekend check list before the Christmas stuff hits the stores. ;-)
I'll all about doing things waaaaaay too much. Not giving up.
Best zebra crash ever.
ReplyDeleteConsider snail mailing several cookies to Alyssa pretty soon.
Damnit, Kara! Now my poor husband is going to have to go get me a nice soft homestyle chocolate chip cookie.
ReplyDeleteThat video made me lose it. Your kid and your dog are hilarious together! I have never seen such an entertaining zebra.
She looks adorable!
ReplyDeleteI love the holiday season- in fact I have been humming a few Christmas tunes myself :)
I was just in Target earlier this week and next to the Halloween stuff there was a section already started for Christmas with cards and lights on display.
I could NEVER give up sweets either. That would make me depressed. And I definitely get way more excited over holidays now as a parent. It's fun to see their excitement and live up all the cheesy parts of holidays.
ReplyDeleteI found a video of another kid in a zebra suit that looks just like Faith:

I love the Faith the Zebra/Peanut interaction. You are a mean, mean blog friend - taunting them with pictures of cookies! I can't give that stuff up either though. I had a mini chocolate w/chocolate chip cookie at work today...they were in the main office. hard to resist.
