I did run 2 miles outside this morning, but my running was largely motivated by the fact that I was cutting it close on time to make it to toddler "Wiggle Giggle" story time at the library. It was warm, muggy and nasty out this morning and the weather didn't help my outlook on the day. We did make it to the library on time and Faith had a great time. Even waiting for story time to start is fun for her.
I'm gonna punch any kids that try to take this toy from me. MY FIST IS READY.
My fist is still ready.
Since she seems to get sick from story time, I brought some antibacterial hand stuff and it turns out that she's a huge little germophobe.
OMG Mommy, did you see that kid next to me with the runny nose?
I'm so grossed out by other toddlers.
She was more into that stuff than sunblock and that's saying a lot. I'm not really sure that it will make a difference in her getting sick from the other kids, but it's worth a shot. Oh, those are stamps on her hand, not some kind of leprosy in case you were wondering.
When we got home from that, she had lunch and then it was time for me to run more. It was one of those days when I should have listened to that voice in my head that said "Wouldn't napping be a better use of your time?". I thought my back would loosen up as I went, but it never did. After a little over 2 miles, I went to try to adjust the volume with the remote and hit some random button that made the TV not work anymore. I spent like 10 minutes trying to fix it, but I couldn't figure it out. I'm sure it will take my husband like 2 seconds to fix it tonight, but it was the straw that broke the camel's back for my run and I just said "Screw it" and called it a day at 4.26 miles total (including the outside portion).

Don't bring me into this you lazy bitch
It was stormy outside this afternoon, so went spent it inside. Faith seemed concerned about Peanut's laziness:
Hey dog, is this all you DO all day?
Mommy, even a fish would move more than this.
Hey Peanut, can you still breathe when I do this?
I'm banking on feeling better tomorrow and getting a good run in. My standards for a "good run" are pretty low, so there is a good chance I'll get it done.
What day of the week do you hate the most? I always hate whatever day my husband has night class.
Are you a Purell user? I never used to even own any, but I got some just for going to the pediatrician's office and the library because they are cesspools of disease.

I had never even heard of hand sanitizer before I had kids and now I keep no fewer than seven bottles in various locations. Two in my purse, two in each car, one in each bathroon, one in the kitchen. My kids know that when they get home from school (or, really, anywhere), the first stop is hand-washing!
ReplyDeleteI always wish I had a spray bottle of purell for after sitting in the doctor's waiting room!
DeleteI have a friend that brings Purell every time we go camping and it always kills me. I mean, you're sleeping on the ground, cooking and drinking things that have been in the dirt all day, and more than likely, your gear is all covered in years worth of grime. Is Purell really going to save you at that point?!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure dirt is going to make you sick anyway :)
Deleteugh. I hate purell. But I also hate any sort of lotion-y or gel/sticky type thing.
ReplyDeleteI hate it too, but kids are so germy.
DeleteYour phrase "expanding the empire" cracked me up. My office companions are looking at me more strangely than usual.
ReplyDeleteI used to be an avid Purell user, but now the B is a critical participant of the cesspool-of-disease carrier population. The only time we use it now is after the MyGym sneeze and cough sessions.
Mondays are pretty bad. I'm so terrible about going to bed early on Sunday so Monday mornings keep figuratively catching me with my pants around my ankles.
I always stay up on Sundays to watch True Blood and that probably makes me more tired for Mondays than otherwise :)
DeleteI didn't read this, but it was probably boring. I scrolled through and based on the pictures I saw, I will give you an 83% for your score.
ReplyDeleteI'll take it.
DeleteYou do work sweetie! Toddlers won't wrestle themselves.
ReplyDeleteYeah, but that's not dependent on the day of the week. :)
DeleteThey do, sometimes.
DeleteHer fist is always ready.
ReplyDeleteKUNG FU BABY
DeleteHULK BABY SMASH
Deletemondays suck. always.
ReplyDeletei love purell. i have a tub of it at my desk at work. another cesspool of disease could also be my work since people are adamant about coming to work sick so they can be a hero :(
I hate those kind of people! Those are probably the same people who bring sick kids to the library :)
DeleteI hope you feel better tomorrow! That camel picture cracked me up and seems to be some kind of metaphor for my life right now. And hand sanitizer freaks me out. It makes me think of hospitals because of the smell and hospitals freak me out, therefore hand sanitizer freaks me out. Perfect sense.
ReplyDeleteThat's why I got the "Sweet Pea" hand sanitizer stuff from Bath and Body Works instead :)
DeleteI also dislike Mondays. And Thursdays. My husband is in a golf league and doesn't get home until 9, and on Thursdays he works out of town. It's exhausting.
ReplyDeleteI am not a complete germaphobe, and we rarely get sick. But when traveling and going to places with lots of kids/sickies we use wet wipes/hand sanitizer.
I bought my husband a day clock as a joke (look it up on amazon), and think about stealing it back because now that I'm not working I think I need it more than he does.
Hand sanitizer is often linked to skin infections in health care professionals because it is so drying. I use it, but only when I have to.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you don't know it's Monday. Monday is the worst day of the week because I've had help all weekend and suddenly my help has to go to work. Hate Monday.
My help does homework all weekend which makes it surprisingly similar to weekdays :)
DeleteAdvanced vocabulary tip: "germaphobe" does not actually mean "loves to spread any liquid all over self and everything else"
ReplyDeleteI dislike Wednesdays and Fridays. Wednesdays drag on at work and are typically a little less eventful than the other days. It seems to dislike Fridays, but we usually head to my in laws' home after work on Fridays and by the time we pack up and drive the 45 minutes there, it's too late to go out for a run or do anything else fun. Other than eat pizza, ice cream and watch cable (which we don't have at home.) I guess looking at it from that perspective, Friday is a darn good rest day.
ReplyDeleteI hate Purell. I got BabyGanics hand sanitizer on clearance at Bed, Bath and Beyond before Logan was born but I never really used it. My husband is much more conscientious when it comes to germs than I am. He is the cleaner and user of hand sanitizer.
I don't like it either, but if it helps, I'll try it!
DeleteI'll remind you of this post next time you tell me to get knocked up while both of us are in grad school.
ReplyDeleteI'm a weirdo teacher that isn't super into hand sanitizer - traveling with coworkers has me using it WAY more than I ever would on my own. It's to my benefit though because no germophobe will ever survive a trail run.
Mondays are the devil. I think you are a freaking trooper for running outside in the heat while pregnant!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, never thought about which day I hate the most. Maybe Thursday cause it just gets in Friday's way?
ReplyDeleteThat picture of the camel was awesome.
Faith "the fist". That can be her mob name.
Faith "The Fist" Kramer. I like it.
DeleteBelieve it or not Fridays at my work are the busiest and most annoying so I can't be excited for the weekend until after work, unless I wake up that morning and f- this I don't care I'm going to act like my weekend already started!
