| I shall make her give me all of her blueberries |
We also got confirmation that my placenta is anterior and the baby is nestled into my back, which is probably why I've been having bad sciatica already. It helped me feel better to know for sure why I'm not feeling kicks and punches except on the edges of my stomach. It was really great to actually see the baby too and pretty strange to see all that movement, but not be able to feel any of it. Stupid wayward placenta! I'm sure in a month or two, I'll be glad to have a cushion from those punches and kicks.
Almost everyone (including myself) thought this baby would be a boy, so we have to give credit to my husband who thought it was a girl all along. He was right last time too, maybe he should get a booth at a circus or something.
Do you have an older sister (or are you one)? Did you make your younger siblings your little servants? That's what I'm imagining will eventually happen here.
you didn't use my awesome blog title suggestion.
ReplyDeleteOh well. good job in making another human being.
you can blame the fetus for your forgetfulness.
DeleteFor the record, my suggestion for the title of this blog post was:
"Overrun with Ovaries"
Congrats on the girl!
ReplyDeleteI am an older sister. 2 years older. I was a bitch to her when we were little, but we are super close now and have been since around middle school age. Sisters are the best.
Your husband deserves a cookie. :)
He is always right. I should know that by now.
DeleteCongratulations! I was the big sister, but always the wimp. Oh boy, I can only imagine if this one is as strong-willed and awesome as Faith! Ha.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be interesting when they are both teenagers, that's for sure!
DeleteI'm eldest of four and let me tell you having 3 minions growing up was AWESOME. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteI found your blog a couple months ago, and I love your sense of humor and your ease with writing about your every day life. I'm a nanny, and I didn't think I would ever see a blog that detailed the life of a stay at home mom in a way that would interest me, but you've DONE IT. I think my husband is getting sick of me showing him the things I find humorous on your blog. Anyway...
Aw, shucks. :)
Deletethere's lots of people who are easily entertained.
DeleteSisters! That will be so fun. I have two sisters (and one lonely brother) and I thoroughly enjoyed being the bossy one of my little sis, and only rarely minded being bossed by the older one.
ReplyDeleteMinion is right :)
Congrats - poor Peanut is going to be so abused by the two of them! Might want to find a 2 person dog saddle now...they make those right?
ReplyDeleteBTW - my wife had the same situation with the placenta, but things moved around eventually and those kicks became feet and fists of fury! Enjoy the quiet while you can!
I only have a younger sister, and I tormented her constantly. I would tie her to the clothesline with a jump rope and leave her. I'd give her rides in the wagon and dump her on purpose. I pushed her into a ditch on the first day of school. And I told her she was adopted and native american, braided her hair in two braids, and gave her a fake native american name...which she believed for the better part of a year.
ReplyDeleteJust so you know what you can look forward to.
But then again, I am a ginger with no soul, so take that for what it's worth.
DeleteCongrats! I have a younger sister and I always managed to talk her into giving me everything of hers that I wanted... including a certain situation with switching Cabbage Patch dolls because I wanted the blue eyed one. But now we are best friends so I guess she must have really liked giving me everything of hers?
ReplyDeleteFaith is going to be an awesome big sister to a little sister! I feel like she will enjoy dressing her in sparkly things. (and I am hoping you can convince your husband of the name Buffy for this one ;) - kidding! Kind of...)
I am an older sister, we were too close in age for me to boss them around much. Nate is 18 mos younger than me and Andy was 21 mos after him.
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!
Congratulations! How fun for Faith and her minion to have each other. :) No one believes my husband either when he says if we have another he wants another girl.
ReplyDeleteOnly child here, so I can't contribute to the sibling conversation.
What is on Faith's plate other than blueberries? It is so colorful!
It's rainbow goldfish crackers and a string cheese!
DeleteHaving a sister is the best thing ever. I don't know how people survive life without one. Faith is so lucky! Also my last blog comment said that me and Peanut match today and like 2 seconds later you said the same thing on my blog. Creepy.....
ReplyDeleteCongrats! We are having another girl too and I'm excited Little Miss will have another sister to play (or butt heads with). My husband was actually thrilled to be having another girl. Everyone kept wondering if he was disappointed by not having a boy but he loves having a daughter. Anyway, I had anterior placenta too with my first and it was a bit nerve wracking at first because I did not feel a lot of movement. But once the nurse explained my placenta, I felt a little more reassured but at times I wanted to feel more movement, just for my own reassurance that everything was ok. But once you get farther along, you will notice more pokes and jabs. Congrats to you! Life with two girls will be fun.
ReplyDeleteI already told my husband that we might as well paint the house pink :)
DeleteMy sister is a bit older than me (5 yrs) but yes, she bossed me around for majority of my childhood (and still does occasionally)however now she is my best friend so I'm really happy for Faith, that's very exciting.
ReplyDeleteMy only sister is 8 years younger than I and was my little shadow. I tried to get rid of her once, but my parents thwarted my plans. I would keep her in line by pinching her. The other nice thing about Faith having a little sister, is that you may not have to get a whole new wardrobe. My sister was more excited about hand-me-downs than new clothes.
ReplyDeleteI have 6 brothers and no sisters.
ReplyDeleteBut yay, it's a baby and not a dinosaur!
Or maybe a dinosaur with a cloaking device??
DeleteI'm the oldest of four and I love it. I make people do things all the time. I'm the kidtriarch of the family :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I have an older sister but she's 13 years older so too old to make me her minion! And, yes, i was a "happy" surprise :)
ReplyDeleteYour mom is a superstar. I'm not sure I'd be "happy" to do this pregnancy thing again in 13 years :)
Deleteyou'll be OLD in 13 years.
DeleteI am the younger sister. My sister was a bit of a wimp. She's wake me up in the middle of the night when she got scared and would make me sleep with her. She's keep talking to me until she feel asleep and by that time i was wide awake.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting that Faith is going to have a little sister!!
I had a younger sister and didn't really make her my servant but more like my "student". Poor girl, we were ALWAYS playing school! She turned out OK [bigger salary than me OK] and I like to take credit. ;)
ReplyDeleteBUT WARNING: THE YOUNGEST IS ALWAYS THE FAVORITE AND GETS AWAY WITH EVERYYYYYYTHING!!!!!!!! :)
I don't see how anyone can get away with more than Faith :)
DeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteI was the older sister and totally blazed the trail for her success. Seriously, she did everything I did...and then had to one up me.
Little bitch.
Haha awesome!
DeleteYay! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteMy sister was totally my slave until she got old enough to fight back. Then we tried to kill each other for years and now we are finally getting along.
ReplyDeleteI cannot be the only one who cracked up about your youngest daughter being an exhibitionist. Jeff better get a gun.
I think in 13 years time, my husband will have a gun collection.
DeleteCongrats on the confirmation that you are getting another little girlie!
ReplyDeleteI am a younger and older sister. My older sister tortured me and I bullied my younger sister. It is a rite of passage. No stopping it. But in time they will love eachother...most days. ;-)
I am a little sister. My older sister would trick me into doing things for her by playing a game called "robot" where I was the robot and she was the controller. She'd punch in "pick up socks" on my back and in a VICI from Small Wonder voice, I'd reply "PICK. UP. SOCKS." and the room would get cleaned. Brilliant, she was.
ReplyDeleteI am the youngest sister of two girls. My sister says I was not nice to her but I don't remember that. All I remember is that time she suggested I eat sand and I did it......then vomited for 24 hours!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS!!
I know the responses are always the same, "congratulations!" but still - CONGRATULATIONS! I'm an only child but I think there's something extra special about same sex siblings. If we have another one, I would be thrilled with a 2nd boy, just for that reason alone!
ReplyDeleteJeff totally needs a booth at the circus, also a creepy moustache to go with it.
ReplyDeleteI'm the middle child with an older sister. I wasn't her minion, I just annoyed the crap out of her.
Congrats on the girl! I have a younger sister, and I remember being a bit bossy at times... :) but sisters are the best!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the little girl! I have a little sister who is 23 months younger than me and we fought like crazy when we were younger but I don't know what I'd do without her now!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!! I'm so excited for you! I don't have a sister so I have no sister experience to share, but I think Faith will be an awesome big sister.
ReplyDeleteYou're always babbling on about the current baby of the family and neglecting the oldest -- how does PEANUT feel about the newest baby? She's gonna be even more neglected with two little sisters.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Now you get to reuse a whole buncha sht :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on Faith 2.0! I have a sister who is 2 1/2 yrs younger, which was 3 grades below me in school so after elementary school, we were never in the same school again. The only time she was my minion was when it came to killing spiders. I'd pay her a quarter to kill them for me if they were in my bedroom. I'd say if I was ever mean to her, she was just as mean back. When we were kids she actually had this routine down where she would pinch me or hit me and then scream, so my parents thought I did something to her.
