No real blog post tonight because I burned the ever loving shit out of my left hand making dinner and my patience for one handed typing is limited. In case you were wondering, I wasn't even really cooking because all I was doing was baking Pillsbury frozen biscuits. I dropped the pan with my potholder hand and in a brilliant flash of genius, saved the biscuits by grabbing the hot pan with my non-potholder hand. Totally worth it.
You don't really need your fingertips, right? I have it soaking in cold water now since it is swelling like a bitch and I can't take any good drugs to help. Freaking limitations of harboring a fetus.
Also, taking care of a toddler with one burnt hand is exactly as much fun as you're imagining.
Instead of anymore of my "woe is me" shit, please enjoy these adorable pictures.

Oh Peanut, I love you so.

Isn't cuddling fun?

No dog should have to suffer this much.

GET HER OFF ME PLEASE
So sorry about your hand. Burns are a bitch. I hope it's not your favored hand (although I'm sure it is). THat will heal in about 3 weeks....
ReplyDeleteLove those pictures. My dog is farting on me as we speak. Not as cute.
ReplyDeleteThat sucks about your hand! Are you sure there's nothing good you can take? I mean, I had morphine and vicodin and flexoril while pregnant and well...we'll find out in a few weeks how my baby fared. so, nevermind.
Hope it heals quickly.
aww peanut
ReplyDeletehahaha baby-brain is hilarious.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your hand! No burn pictures? I'm kind of surprised.
ReplyDeleteWere the biscuits good? I love the Pillsbury flaky ones.
Ouch! I still have a scar on my arm from taking a pizza out of the oven. How I burned my forearm, I'll have no idea. I was wearing oven mitts. :-/
ReplyDeleteI'm no longer allowed to take anything out of the oven.
I love the last picture of Peanut and Faith!
it sounds crazy, but if you put some mint toothpaste on your burn, it'll take the sting/pain away.
ReplyDeleteI'm too terrified to try hahaha
DeleteYou know what helps heal burns?
ReplyDeleteSemen.
I really love those pictures of Faith and Peanut. So so so cute!
ReplyDeleteI hate when I do stupid stuff like that. I'm so mad at myself after it happens since I could have avoided it if I thought about what I was doing. I hope your fingers feel better!
I feel like you missed a caption: "I love my sister Peanut who is not dumb enough to burn her hand like Mommy"
ReplyDeleteOuch. Burns are so painful! I hope you feel better soon and are watching mindless TV to get your mind off it. I dropped a knife the other day and decided at the last minute not to catch it.
ReplyDeletePeanut is one chill little dog. My dog would not stand for that kind of smothering...she's be squirming all over the place.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the burn btw, I did the same thing one time and I could actually hear my skin SIZZLE when it happened. Fun times.
That'll teach you to cook.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is exactly why I'm afraid of the oven. If I am taking anything with some weight to it (ie a casserole), I make my husband take it out for me. Just call me Julie Child.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good Peanut! Save me.....that is exactly what her eyes are saying!! :)
Hope your hand feels better. Peanut is such a good dog!
ReplyDeletePeanut loves it. She just acts like it's killing her.
ReplyDeleteI've reached my hand into boiling water before because I dropped the spoon in. I feel your pain.
I think Peanut secretly is planning your demise.
ReplyDeletePicture of the burn or it never happened! I kid. Sorry you burned your hand. I did something similar once except I didn't have a tiny person to be responsible for so it mattered less that I had a stupid hand for a few days.
ReplyDeleteCutest.photos.ever.
ReplyDeleteI recently did the same thing! I was baking a sheet of (Trader Joe's frozen) appetizers for Owen's birthday party and the whole thing slid off my potholdered hands and landed on my upper arm. I dropped the pan and then proceeded to try to catch the flying hot cheese poofs barehanded. Stupid.
ReplyDeleteMy fingers have recovered but my arm is still an open wound with a gross scab forming. DISGUSTING. And Owen loves to touch it and say, "Mommy's burn.".
Hope your hand heals faster than my arm!
I could see myself doing that. Ouch.
ReplyDeleteBut the cute dog-kid photos make for a great post.
Aww, so sorry you burned yourself! That's terrible. One time I burned myself and Eric googled it and told me to stick my hand in a bowl of cold milk, and it really helped!
ReplyDeletePeanut could possibly be the most hugged dog in America. :)
ReplyDeleteI leaned against a hot cookie sheet once and burned my stomach straight across - that summer I was convinced people thought it would look like a C-section scar. Also, I had no idea what that kind of scar would look like anyone. Cute Faith pictures are always welcome!
ReplyDeleteOuch!
ReplyDeleteHope your fingers feel better soon. I burned my belly once when I was cooking in my sports bra. Not real bright either.
ReplyDeleteLove the Faith and Peanut pictures.
This is why cooking is for the birds. Doesn't your husband know he shouldn't travel just to make dinner every niight?
