So Spoiled

Being at the beach this week is resulting in two things:

1. I am getting a chance to rest and relax, which wasn't what I expected for a vacation with a toddler.

2. Faith is getting incredibly spoiled.

Guess who is center of attention?

My ribs are actually feeling better, which is really exciting for me. I can even touch my side without wincing and breathing is much less painful. It must be the combination of resting from activity and not carrying Faith nearly as much as I do at home. My pipe dream of coming home healed may not be so crazy after all!

Being at the beach in the fall is pretty awesome. First of all, it's not crowded at all and the weather is amazing. The high every day as been 74 degrees with clear blue skies. It's been a little windy, but today was a perfect beach day. Yesterday when it was windy, we went mini golfing instead.

We played 18 holes of mini golf and only one of us got a hole in one...and that person had a plastic club.

Game on Mommy. I will crush you all!

I would have had another hole in one if Uncle Nick didn't insist on "helping" me!

Victory is mine!

Today was a perfect beach day. Faith spent her time there abusing the good nature of family members.

They WANT to serve me. It's not abuse.

Grandma, fetch me water!

I want to go into the ocean, but I don't want the water to touch me.

Getting Faith to eat well and sleep well is really easy at the beach. She is carb loading like a marathon runner and sleeping like a college student on the weekend.

I didn't get to be this tall by refusing cookies

She is going to be so disappointed next week when she realizes that she is stuck with just me again. She will miss her audience.

Tell me how cute I am!

This trip has been a great "last hurrah" for her in her starring role as first and only grandchild. I'm sure she won't mind sharing the spotlight with her little sister at all...right? Kids love that kind of thing.

Do you like being the center of attention? I really don't, but I do enjoy watching Faith revel in it.

  1. you're getting lazy in your funniness. I didn't find any humor in this post at all, and you have had several days to work on it!

    I'm disappointed in you.

    1. All this relaxation has made me lose my bitchy snark edge.

  3. I felt the post was heart warming and sweet. And that pisses me off in my extra snarky state.
But really, Faith is too cute.
I've always enjoyed being the center of attention and I hate that about myself. Isn't that weird?

  4. The visor plus the ponytail at the top of the head is a great look. I think I'm going to start using Faith as my style muse.

  5. Hey, you deserve the rest! Soak it up just like Faith is! Looks like she is a natural at golfing. Maybe she could be the next Tiger Woods? But without the wierd personal life...

I'm so glad that SOB rib is feeling better. Maybe ribs heal faster near the water?

    1. I almost called her "Tigress Woods" in the post but thought it sounded like a bad porn name lol

  6. I'm not sure there's anything cuter than a toddler in beach wear. Well done picking it out. I hate being the center of attention. I even dread presentations at work.

    1. Public speaking makes me sweat...a lot. It's so socially acceptable.

  7. So glad your rib is feeling better!

I think all bloggers like to be the center of attention to some extent. I don't like it when I'm physically present though. I get embarrassed and when I get embarrassed, I flush bright red. Which makes me more embarrassed. It's an awful loop.

    1. Not only is she sleeping, but I've been having to wake her up from naps because she's sleeping too long! The baby better be on board with Faith's precedent :)

  12. I'm obsessed with Faith's little swimsuits!

Glad to hear your pain is starting to go away!

I must say- trying to type with one hand so that I don't wake the sleeping baby on my chest is no easy task, but I'm suffering through to be able to comment.

  14. This trip is just what you needed. I hope you *do* come back healed.

She'll probably have a grandparent hangover, but it won't last long. As for Faith welcoming baby sister, she'll be fine with it....until little sister can get to her toys.

  15. So jealous you are at the beach. I was feeling sorry for you for being all pregnant and huge, but not anymore. Hopefully Faith will relish the big sister role. Cade didn't mind when I brought the baby home but it was a big surprise to him when he couldn't monopolize my time anymore.

  17. I thought Aunt Andie banned all future pictures of Uncle Nick. Why do I remember crap like that?

  18. Did Faith trap you inside the house for that first picture so that she could have all the attention? I never actually met Faith in person, but she is getting so big! Looks like you had a nice vacation. Not a fan of being the center of attention. For example, I hated my bridal shower. I got nervous speaking in front of my tiny cohort of 9 or so grad students even after I knew them for almost 3 years. Blech!

  19. And not learning how to take a picture without getting it ruined by glare.
