If you've ever thought, "Baby gear is expensive, but at least you can reuse it if you have more than one kid", you're a fool. You have never seen passion until you've seen a toddler reunited with some long forgotten piece of baby gear that once belonged to them (even if you thought they were too young to notice).
Have you ever seen a 35lb toddler jam herself in a Bumbo seat?
Faith just found her new favorite seat in the house.

It IS an awesome color.
ReplyDeleteI knew you'd like that. Don't worry, the Bumbos come in purple too. :)
DeleteWhen we went up to NY for xmas, the toys that my brother was going to give us were the ONLY toys that his kids (6 and 3) wanted to play with.
ReplyDeleteOf course, they hadn't touched them for the past 3 years or more... But now... THIS IS MY FAVORITE TOY EVER!!!
Humans are awful.
DeleteBahaha, duly noted. This actually happens every time Charlotte tries to play with other kids' old toys.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about my pants from high school.
ReplyDeleteHahaha. My son just got a bumbo seat for Christmas and I have caught my four year trying to sit in it. I am always worried that she is going to get stuck in it.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I've seen that happen. I think my son had more fun picking out his 10-month-old cousin's Christmas present than showing me more age-appropriate stuff for himself. Baby bath toys....those are the best....
ReplyDeleteCan you please video Faith when she tries to get up out of that Bumbo and finds it's attached permanently like a tortoise shell? Is it mean of me to want to get a laugh out of a toddler's distress?
ReplyDeleteHahaha, yes please. How did she get in there??
DeleteTruth.
ReplyDeleteAnd it doesn't end at toddlerhood. I've had my older kids get all grabby and nostalgic when they recognize their old baby stuff. Happens every time I pull something out for the littlest. My seven-year old can wedge his ass into the Bumbo.
My daughter cried when I gave her Bumbo away to a friend, she still sat in it to watch TV sometimes or sat her "babies" in it. Other things like bouncy chairs the kids fought over for years till I got rid of those too.
ReplyDeleteBumbo chairs are a seriously great invention!
Our bouncy seat has to be bent back into place regularly because Charlotte sits in it and the back almost touches the ground.
ReplyDeleteOur bumbo is borrowed, so thankfully the little one who it belongs to cannot see Harrison using it and get territorial. Since we have about half of his belongings, I think it would become a baby warzone if he were to ever learn of this.
ReplyDeleteI've heard a lot about this "bumbo" but still don't understand what it is. If I had just ignored the words and looked at the picture, I still wouldn't understand which child was supposed to be in it. I guess that's why reading words can help.
ReplyDeleteDo you have to help Faith out of the Bumbo because she's stuck in it? I'd love to see that!
ReplyDeleteNo, I told her that's her cross to bear. She can get back out just fine if you leave her alone in a room with it :)
DeleteSo obviously you need to buy a new stroller and hide her existing one, so you can bring it back out once every two weeks for her to reunited with it for a long run.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA! This picture made my night.
