In my last post, I mentioned that Cordelia normally slept from 9:30pm-3:30am and then slept until 8:30am after a feeding.
I accept your challenge
Last Wednesday Cordelia got her 2 month shots (sidenote: the little butterball is already over 12lbs!) and since then her sleeping has regressed back to waking up every 2-3 hours. This means two things:
1. I'm tired. There is a reason that sleep deprivation is so effective at breaking people. If she had better motor control, Cordelia might also be using water boarding.
Ugh Mommy, you are such a whiner
2. My running suffered. I really tried to do my "long" run of 9-10 miles on both Saturday and Sunday and it just didn't happen. In addition to not sleeping as much, Cordelia is fussier and my husband hasn't been able to get her to take a bottle at all. I got 5 miles done on Saturday and then 7 miles today, with 2 miles outside at an average 8:40 pace (fastest post-baby miles yet!).
I did get that one 9 mile day done, but I'm not feeling really optimistic about marathon training at this point. On the plus side, I've been feeling really good when I actually get the chance to run and my speed is slowly returning. Also, I ran more miles (33) last week than I got in hours of sleep, so that either speaks to my dedication or stupidity.
You're dedicated to your stupidity Mommy
The real victim of my treadmill running is the dog. I swear I actually saw her heart break on Saturday morning when I went down to the basement instead of out the front door. The dog's quality of life has really suffered since Cordelia was born.
No, my life started sucking 2.5 years ago
Luckily Peanut doesn't hold grudges and still keeps Cordelia company every time she does "tummy time".
Geez kid, why are you just LAYING there?
My life goals now include learning how to sleep and run at the same time and to never again talk about children sleep habits in public or online.
Do you ever avoid doing something because you might jinx yourself? Every time I say the phrase "Well, it's not like it could get worse" I feel like the sky is going to fall on me.
