This summer has been different. We've actually had some cool days mixed in! Yesterday had magical weather. The high (!) was 77 degrees with low humidity and the weather channel even used the word "pleasant" to describe the forecast. Of course this meant that I subjected my children to the suffering of sitting in a comfortable seat while I push them around.
OMG Mommy, this is so lame.
Despite their dour little faces, they both seemed to enjoy the run. Faith saw tractors and Cordelia dozed and I almost burst a lung trying to push that thing into the wind. The temperature was fabulous, but the wind was intense. It felt like I was trying to push a wheelbarrow up a sand dune. Every time I run with the double stroller, all I can think about is how much I hate it but after I'm done I'm like "That wasn't so bad!". It's like my brain enjoys pain.
It was way too nice to go back inside after we finished the run, so I forced the children to be outside. Faith wasn't pleased with me.

Ugh, this wind is messing with my hair.
The baby had the right idea.
This is the life
One of the great things about the second baby is that you don't really have to worry about their entertainment. That's a job easily filled by the older child.

This is literally the most entertaining thing I've ever seen!
Peanut really enjoyed the run. She's put on some weight this summer because she hasn't been running as much (due to the heat) and she's been getting more snacks from the baby's messes, so she's been lagging behind on most of the stroller runs. That's saying something considering how I slowly I'm running while pushing that thing.
Why can't it be a triple stroller so I can ride too?
I thought Peanut would enjoy hanging out in the front yard with us since the weather was so nice, but her tiny pea-sized brain couldn't compute.
I'm not allowed to be outside my fence. PANIC PANIC PANIC
It must be hard to go through life as dumb as Peanut. Although maybe she's not dumb. One time the guy who cuts our grass accidentally left the back gate open so Peanut just went around to the front door and barked until I opened it. She probably knows that she has a sweet deal here.
Did you have the wonderful cool weather yesterday too? What did you do to revel in it?
Do you get upset when it's not hot in the summer? I would have never guessed that was a thing, but I've seen complaints on Facebook so maybe I'm just a heat hater.
