I forgot to take a before picture, but you can mostly see the room in this one:

My husband and I made good use of nap times this weekend and got this done:
|Pay no attention to the horrible lighting|
Now we just have the rest of the downstairs to do...and then the upstairs too. Why do houses have to have so many walls? I'm starting to see the merits of an open floor layout. Maybe we'll be really fancy and even get curtains now. It won't even look like we just moved in last week.
Since we were painting this weekend, I did shorter runs so I'd have more time to help my husband. I ran 10 miles on Friday and then on Saturday I ran with two friends for about 13 miles. Since my summer races are over and it's a long time until my next race in November, I'm finding myself pretty easily distracted on my runs. I'm still getting good miles in (54 miles this week) but on Saturday I stopped 3 times on the run to pet horses and donkeys. Hopefully it was too early for the owners to be awake because I'm sure they would be excited to see a strange sweat soaked woman touching their horse.
It was my friend's birthday so we stopped at mile 12 for a cake break (we had left a tupperware of cake, there wasn't just some kind of cake fairy). I'm basically turning my neighbor friends into ultra runners because they took a walk break while eating cake and then starting running again. They now have all the skills they need to run an ultra marathon.
It wasn't even my birthday and I got to take the leftover cake home. If my neighbors didn't already think I was strange, I'm sure the sight of me running through the neighborhood holding a container of cake didn't help my case.
It was actually chocolate zucchini bread so that's basically a health food, so I had more for lunch. Don't worry, I shared.

Cordelia picked up a new skill this weekend: clapping! It's adorable, but of course she won't do it when I'm trying to take video. The chocolate zucchini bread did inspire her to clap and I was able to get enough pictures to make this:
I like how the gif captures Peanut's sneaky "Are you done with those crumbs?" moves. That dog lives to clean out that high chair seat.
What will make you take a break on a run? I have three things: horses, puppies, and free food. You'd have to be an idiot to run past someone handing out free food.
Did you paint your own house or pay someone else to do it? After a few hours of painting, I was starting to see the merit in paying someone else to do it, but my cheap bastard side is bigger than my lazy side.
