Day Nine

Not that I'm counting, but today was Day Nine of no treadmill. I thought that a change of scenery would make my stroller run more fun so I planned to run from Faith's preschool instead of my usual run from home. It should have worked out perfectly because then the baby would nap in the stroller and I'd already be out and I could do exciting errands like picking up yet more milk. While I'm really excited that Cordelia is off formula now, I didn't realize the sheer quantity of milk that two small kids go through in a week. I need to buy my own organic milk cow for the yard. It would keep the grass trim and if it got sick and died, then it could be burger night for weeks!

I was surprised to see snow covering the grass this morning when the sun came up. Normally any frozen precipitation around here results in hours of hysterical news coverage, but this snow has fallen unannounced and they didn't even cancel or delay school! The roads were clear, so I went ahead of my plan of running after the school drop off. As you would expect for a winter run, it was freaking cold outside.

The run should have been awful because the sidewalks were icy in random spots, I picked a ridiculously hilly area for a stroller run, and the baby never fell asleep but it was actually a nice run. I realized today that running with a stroller is an advantage when it's icy because it's harder to lose your balance when you're holding onto something stable.

This never gets old for me

I ran 6.3 miles and I thought about making it an even 7, but I was already pushing the limits of the baby's patience. Since I have nothing else to say that isn't more insane ramblings about life without my treadmill, let's admire the adorableness of a 3 year old in snazzy outfit.

Her "Hit Me Baby One More Time" outfit

Ready....set.....

FLY!!!!!

Ugh, Mommy...you call this a braid?

If you could have one barnyard animal at your house (apartment?), which would you pick? I'd be torn between a dairy cow and a sheep that would give me delicious lamb.

Which GIF never gets old for you? If you link to an awesome one I haven't seen before, then you will earn my utmost respect.

  1. Faith is too freaking cute in that outfit. It's like when people dress baby boys in suits. It kills me!

We have friends with goats and chickens. The goats the keep specifically to keep their extra land mowed. I think you're on to something.

    1. If my HOA would allow it, I'd have a yard goat already.

    2. Also, our neighborhood has a company bring in a herd of goats to take care of the common areas. Goats for hire, it's a thing.

  6. I only get gifs from you, and I want zero animals in my apartment. Not even a fish. Not even pictures of animals. Maybe I need a gif that shows someone completely dead inside.

  7. I desperately want a miniature cow. I keep trying to convince my husband that it would be awesome, and help meet my need for milk. We could even make cheese!

He's concerned about this whole "living in a city of 5 million people" thing, but I assured him that we could pasture the cow on the median outside our apartment. He remains skeptical. Any suggestions? :)

  8. Faith is so cute in that outfit! We can't even keep fish alive so I don't think we can handle any farm animals.
